Well, this is interesting. So far I've tried to access this blog from 2 places in Istanbul, and had no success either time. I can access all sorts of other websites without problems. The same is also true for my friends over at Obscene Desserts -- no luck calling up their blog, either.
Ironically, I seem to be able to actually post to the blog via Typepad; I just can't call it up to check the results. In any case, I'll try to post a few updates and pictures from Istanbul when I have the chance. In the meantime, please bear with me!

So Mr Churchill was lacking required intercultural
skill sets? Thought so. What a cunt.

You also rarely see, as you once did, references to the 'lower sort of Irish'.
Pity, really.
Me, I type out the word 'Hindoo' whenever possible. Even when it has nothing to do with whatever it is happen to be writing about.
I'm a fan of the double-o, what can I say. I demand my rights too.

John, I'll have you know that the pamphlet "What is Islam?" issued by the Istanbul Office of Religious Affairs states, on page 1: "'Mohammedanism' is a misnomer for Islam and offends its very spirit."
I don't think we're allowed to spell it 'Hindoo' anymore either, more's the pity.

Well, it seems our plans to bring enlightenment to the benighted Mohammedan have been well thwarted. We need a new plan...
Funnily enough, something similar has happened to me from certain locations in the UK.
Was it something we said?

For an immediate check, you could load http://pici.picidae.net and access your page rendered as an image. This is a convenience for internet cafes or other places where you can not fiddle with the proxy settings. If you use your own laptop, you can of course use one of the proxy servers.
